Engaging Employees: An Analyst Center of Excellence Strategy Part 2

By Renee Saint-Louis

Part one of this series described how an Analyst Center of Excellence can contribute to increased employee satisfaction and engagement within an organization. This series is based on the research conducted by the Gallup Organization and detailed in the best-selling book First Break All the Rules: What Great Managers do Differently by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman. The premise of the book is: an organization is only as strong as the talent it employs. Great people are more likely to stay with an organization if they have great managers. Great managers understand how to motivate individuals to exercise more of their strengths every day in their job.

As previously stated in part one, I would contend that a well run Center of Excellence (COE) can have great influence in the factors that help determine job satisfaction. To that end, Gallup addresses job satisfaction through a series of 12 questions that measure employee engagement.

This article will examine how a COE can help address the remaining subset of the 12 Questions posed by Gallup which rate employee satisfaction at an organization.
