HELP! Why are reporting requirements so difficult. The user seems to need to see the report before they can tell me what they need. Does anyone have any comments, suggestions to make this process easier.
Typically i set the stage at the begining of a customer relationship with a set of standard reports and metrics. I show these at the Systems Requirements Review (SRR) and establish them as the standard. I also take suggestions at that point for additional reports/metrics that they might want to see. This seems to reduce the adhoc reports but does not completely eliminate them.
