I had to categorize them to make it an effective presentation. I agree with you. Change & Config Management and Vendor Management are also critical. I actually created a clear requirements methodology (CRRSP) based on a combination of D-0178 aviation certification, systems analysis best practices and lean management. It actually makes our clients money!

I actually have an interview matrix that includes these other components as part of the overall score a BA receives. I based my numbers in the article on the interviews of hundreds of BA's from a cross section of companies that had applied to work with us. Their career levels spanned intermediate to senior and their backgrounds included companies like Google and Microsoft.

Some of my research also came from the extensive work I did in compiling the world's first university accredited BA diploma program (I love seeing how many have followed suit since then).
