The Business Analysis profession is not for the faint-hearted

I must tell you, the Business Analysis profession is not for the faint-hearted. I am highly analytical and possess most of the traits that make a good BA. I strive to improve my skills at all times and I am open-minded. One crippling factor for me though is dealing with a large number of stakeholders, building and maintaining these relationship. I find the interactions with stakeholders to be excessive & overwhelming. I am an extrovert but also an introvert to some extent, & I often long for some quite place to work all by myself and process my thoughts. I miss my programmer days so much.

I have contemplated many a times quitting business analysis, but that is where the majority of my strengths are, except for this stakeholder interaction thing. Unfortunately, stakeholders are at the heart of business analysis.

Has any of you been through a similar identity crisis scuffle? How did you go about resolving the issue and getting a peace of mind?

Please share your story.

Many Thanks!
